Our next set of cooking classes have started and where kicked off with a bang. April's class was held at the
Wallaceburg Centre for Seniors and was a sell out. We had a full class. The instructor Joyce did a wonderful job teaching everyone how to make a bean soup, chicken stir fry and a great greek salad with beans. Everything was delicious.
Our next two classes are also being held at the Wallaceburg Centre for Seniors on May 16th and June 13th. Please call ahead to save yourself a spot since the classes seem to fil up fast.
Watch for our summer session to start in Tilbury at the Leisure Centre in July.
Happy Cooking.

First Cooking Class " A Great Success"
"How Grandma and Grandpa Used to Make It Cooking Classes"
Thursday January 27, 2011 was the very first cooking class and kick off to a great program that assists seniors with self health management. The attendance was great, there actually was a waiting list. The menu was chicken quesadillas, a healthy rice dish and salad. All had a fun filled afternoon with a chance to win a door prize donated by the local Sobeys store. Participants had their blood pressures taken, an opportunity to speak with a diabetic nurse thanks to Tilbury District Family Health Team and an opportuntiy to see what activities are being offered at the Acitve Lifestyles Centre. We were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures. Please watch for our future postings and actual photos of our seniors in action. Our next class is scheduled for February 17, 2011 for an afternoon of tasty appetizers.
